What Decides Varmala Preservation Cost? Price Factors Explained

By Kavita Dadhich, resin artist at Varmala Preservation India, Jaipur (working with wedding flowers since 2010). Prices checked against our store listings on 26 October 2026.

Quick answer: On our store, varmala preservation in resin usually costs about ₹3,500 for a 6-inch frame, ₹5,000 for 8 inches, ₹6,500 for 10 inches and ₹8,500 for 12 inches. Large frames of 14–18 inches are around ₹9,500, and full varmala frames range from ₹5,999 to ₹27,499. Size, resin depth, a photo, LED lights, a teakwood frame and extra keepsakes like kaleere change the final price.

  • Pickup and return delivery cost ₹300 for small pieces and ₹500 for a full varmala. Pickup is free in Jaipur within about 3 km of our studio.
  • You pay 50% to start and the rest after you approve the finished piece, before dispatch.
  • Urgent orders cost nothing extra. Speed depends on how dry the flowers are.

You have seen frames on Instagram for ₹2,000 and others for ₹15,000, and you cannot tell what the difference is. You do not want to overpay, but you also do not want to lose your only varmala to a bad job. This guide shows our real prices by size, explains what changes the cost, and tells you what you should get for your money anywhere you order.

Where to see every price

The size-wise and type-wise price tables now live on our varmala preservation price list, updated from our store. This guide explains what moves the cost up or down, so you can choose with confidence.

What changes the price of varmala preservation?

  • Size: a bigger frame needs more resin, more flowers and more working time.
  • Resin depth: deep-casting frames use thick resin poured in layers, which takes longer to cure.
  • Full garland vs selected flowers: keeping the whole varmala needs a large frame and careful arrangement.
  • Photo: a printed couple photo is sealed inside the resin.
  • Frame material: a teakwood frame costs more than a plain resin edge.
  • Add-ons: LED lights, names, wedding date, pearls, gold flakes, kaleere, chooda pieces and the wedding card.
  • Number of pieces: extra frames or jewellery made from the same flowers.

One thing does not change the price: urgent timelines cost nothing extra.

Pickup, delivery and payment

Pickup and return delivery₹300 for small flower preservation, ₹500 for a full varmala. Free in Jaipur within about 3 km of the studio.
Payment50% to start work, 50% after completion. Full payment before dispatch.
Cash on deliveryNot available, because every piece is handmade to order.
Prepaid discount10% off when you pay online in full through the website.
TimeAbout 16–21 days after your dried flowers reach us; up to about 26 days for a full varmala. Delivery within India then takes about 4–5 working days.

Why prices differ so much between artists

The resin, the flowers and the frame can look similar in photos. The difference is in steps you cannot see in a picture:

  • Drying: rushed or skipped drying is cheaper but causes browning and fungus later.
  • Resin grade: low-cost resin yellows sooner and may stay cloudy.
  • Curing time: letting each layer cure fully takes days, and rushing it causes bubbles and soft surfaces.
  • Approvals: showing you the flowers and design before pouring takes extra time and care.
  • Packing: proper packing for a heavy resin frame costs more but protects it in transit.

We explain this in more depth in why some artists charge more for varmala preservation, and what makes a frame last in how long varmala preservation lasts.

Instagram artist or a dedicated studio?

Many talented resin artists sell on Instagram, and some do excellent work. The price alone does not tell you who will do a good job. Compare what you get:

Our studio in Jaipur has worked on wedding flower preservation since 2010, has a 4.8-star rating on Google, and bills under our registered firm, Sky Ocean Craft. You can read what couples say on our reviews page.

Is varmala preservation worth the money?

For most couples, yes, if it is done well. You only have one varmala, and it cannot be replaced. A well-made frame lasts for years and becomes a family keepsake. A cheap job that browns or yellows in a year is the real waste of money. Set your budget by the size you want, and spend on drying, resin quality and approvals rather than on extra decoration.
